Base Refiner

Creating a Stronger Base for High-Performance Sports Flooring

PRODUCT OVERVIEW

Base Refiner

Base Refiner is a specially formulated coating used to refine and prepare the surface before the application of subsequent acrylic sports flooring layers. It helps improve surface consistency by filling minor irregularities and creating a more uniform base for the complete flooring system.

Designed for use over properly prepared concrete and bitumen surfaces, Base Refiner helps create a stable foundation for subsequent coatings. By improving the condition and uniformity of the base, it supports smoother application, better system consistency, and a more refined finish across the sports court.

APPLICATION GUIDE

How to Apply Raycourt Base Refiner

Base Refiner is used to correct surface undulations in prepared concrete and bitumen substrates before the next layers of the sports flooring system are applied.

Mixing Ratio

Coverage

Base Refiner typically covers approximately 0.060 kg/sq.ft per layer. Actual coverage may vary depending on the porosity and texture of the substrate.

Correction Depth

Base Refiner can be applied in individual patches to correct surface undulations of up to 10 mm, helping create a more consistent substrate for the subsequent layers of the acrylic sports flooring system.

Step-by-Step Application Process

  • Cleaning

Clean the surface thoroughly and wet the concrete or bitumen substrate to identify uneven areas. Mark the areas requiring correction with chalk.

  • Measurement

Measure the thickness of the uneven areas to determine the required correction depth.

  • Applying Base Refiner

For surface undulations between 3 mm and 10 mm, apply Base Refiner using an aluminium plaster strip and the recommended mixing ratio.

  • Drying

Allow the corrected areas to dry completely for approximately one day before proceeding with the next stage of the sports flooring system.
