Engineered 7 Layer System for Durable Acrylic Sports Courts

OVERVIEW

Understanding the 7 Layer Flooring System

The Raycourt 7 Layer System combines surface preparation, acrylic resurfacing, Proflex Cushion layers, and premium acrylic color coatings to create a durable and high-performance sports flooring surface. Each layer performs a specific function to improve adhesion, surface uniformity, player comfort, reliable traction, and long-term outdoor performance.

Raycourt 7 Layer System

Raycourt 7 Layer System on Concrete Base

(Depending On Base Condition)

Raycourt’s 7 Layer System for concrete bases is designed to create a durable, cushioned, and high-performance synthetic acrylic sports surface. Applied over a properly prepared concrete base, the system includes 1 Concrete Primer layer, 2 Acrylic Resurfacer layers, 2 Proflex Cushion layers, and 2 Acrylic Color layers to improve adhesion, surface uniformity, player comfort, traction, and long-term outdoor performance.

Layer 1: Primer Layer

Purpose: The Concrete Primer layer creates a strong bond between the prepared concrete base and the Acrylic Resurfacer layers. It penetrates the porous concrete surface, helps seal minor pores, and provides a stable foundation for the complete flooring system.

Material: Raycourt Concrete Primer, a pure acrylic-based primer formulated for concrete sports flooring applications.

Application: Applied evenly using a roller or squeegee after the concrete surface has been properly cleaned, prepared, and allowed to dry.

Thickness After Application: Approximately 0.2–0.3 mm.

Features:

  • Improves adhesion between the concrete base and flooring system
  • Helps reduce the risk of delamination
  • Seals minor pores and surface imperfections
  • Supports resistance to moisture infiltration from the substrate

Purpose: The two Acrylic Resurfacer layers help smooth minor surface irregularities and create a uniform foundation for the Proflex Cushion layers. They improve surface consistency and support the durability and performance of the complete flooring system.

Material: Raycourt Acrylic Resurfacer, a pure acrylic-based material that may be mixed with fine silica sand as required for improved leveling and surface uniformity.

Application: Applied in two uniform coats using a squeegee, with adequate drying time between each application.

Thickness After Application: Approximately 0.4–0.6 mm.

Features:

  • Helps fill minor cracks and surface imperfections
  • Improves surface smoothness and uniformity
  • Creates a stable foundation for Proflex Cushion
  • Supports improved surface strength and durability

Purpose: The two Proflex Cushion layers provide enhanced resilience and impact absorption to improve player comfort during regular sports activities. The cushion build-up helps create a more comfortable playing surface while supporting consistent sports performance.

Material: Raycourt Proflex Cushion, an acrylic-based cushioning material formulated with elastomeric components for synthetic acrylic sports flooring.

Application: Applied in two uniform coats using the approved application method, with adequate drying time between each layer to achieve consistent coverage and cushioning performance.

Thickness After Application: Approximately 0.6–0.8 mm.

Features:

  • Adds resilience and flexibility to the surface
  • Helps absorb impact during sports activities
  • Improves player comfort during regular use
  • Supports a comfortable and consistent playing surface

Purpose: The final two acrylic color coats provide the finished playing surface, delivering the required color, texture, traction, and long-term protection. These layers are designed to provide high durability and reliable surface grip.

Material: Raycourt highly pure acrylic color topcoat formulated with UV-resistant pigments and suitable anti-slip additives.

Application: Applied in two uniform coats using a squeegee to ensure even coverage and consistent color across the court surface.

Color Coat 1: Mix the specified quantity of silica sand and potable water with Raycourt Pure Acrylic Color, then apply evenly using a squeegee.

Color Coat 2: Mix the specified quantity of water with Raycourt Pure Acrylic Color and apply using a squeegee after grinding the first color coat.

Thickness After Application: Each coat is approximately 0.3–0.5 mm, with a combined thickness of approximately 0.6–1.0 mm.

Features:

  • Delivers a vibrant and consistent court finish
  • Provides reliable slip resistance and surface traction
  • Helps protect underlying layers from UV exposure and wear
  • Supports easy cleaning and routine maintenance

The complete Raycourt 7 Layer System has an approximate total thickness of 2.4–2.9 mm after application. The final thickness may vary depending on the condition of the concrete base, application consistency, material consumption, and the specified Proflex Cushion build-up.

Raycourt 7 Layer System

Raycourt 7 Layer System on Bitumen Base

(Depending On Base Condition)

Raycourt’s 7 Layer System for bitumen bases is designed to create a durable, resilient, and cushioned synthetic acrylic sports surface. Applied over a properly prepared bitumen base, the system includes 2 acrylic resurfacer layers, 3 Proflex Cushion layers, and 2 acrylic color coats to improve surface uniformity, player comfort, durability, and long-term outdoor performance.

Layer 1 and 2: Acrylic Resurfacer Layers

Purpose: The acrylic resurfacer layers help smooth surface irregularities and create a uniform, even foundation for the Proflex Cushion layers. They also improve surface durability and prepare the bitumen base for the subsequent flooring layers.

Material: Raycourt pure acrylic-based resurfacer, mixed with fine silica sand as required for improved leveling and surface uniformity.

Application: Applied evenly using a squeegee in one or two coats, depending on the condition of the prepared bitumen surface.

Thickness After Application: Approximately 0.4–0.6 mm.

Features:

  • Helps fill minor cracks and surface imperfections
  • Improves overall surface uniformity
  • Creates a stable foundation for cushion layers
  • Enhances base strength and long-term durability

Purpose: The Proflex Cushion layers provide shock absorption and improve player comfort during regular sports activities. The multi-layer cushion build-up enhances surface resilience while helping reduce fatigue and impact-related stress.

Material: Raycourt Proflex Cushion, an acrylic-based cushioning material formulated with elastomeric components for synthetic acrylic sports flooring systems.

Application: Applied in three uniform coats using the approved application method, with adequate drying time between each coat to achieve the required thickness and elasticity.

Thickness After Application: Approximately 0.6–0.8 mm.

Features:

  • Adds surface resilience and flexibility
  • Enhances player comfort by absorbing impact
  • Helps reduce stress on joints and muscles

The final thickness may vary depending on the condition of the bitumen base, application consistency, material consumption, and the specified Proflex Cushion build-up.
